FAQs

What is a 3D Scan?

A 3D scan is a non-invasive, radiation free method of mapping the surface of your body. mign will use this scan, pre-treatment photographs, & medical input from your doctor to design a brace that will be most effective considering your lifestyle & treatment goals.

Will I have any out-of-pocket costs?

Your cost is dependent upon how much is paid by your insurance company and how much is your responsibility. Your responsibility depends on your plan’s cost-sharing arrangement including co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximum. You will be advised of your coverage authorization and if there are any out-of-pocket costs prior to brace manufacturing.

What happens during my scan appointment?

During this appointment, your clinician will take a 3D scan of your body, as well as some photographs to use in designing your mign medical wearable (mmw). The clinician will mark your important anatomical landmarks to ensure a therapeutic fit.

When will I receive my mmw?

Lead times will vary based on the speed of insurance authorization. Once authorized, you will be contacted to schedule your scan and fitting appointment at mign. Custom braces from mign will require approximately 1 week for manufacturing.

What should I wear for my scan appointment?

In order for the scan to capture the most accurate contour of your body, you should wear tight-fitting clothing with minimal buttons, zippers, etc. You should bring similar clothing to your fitting appointment as well.

What do I need to bring to my scan appointment?

You should bring your prescription form and a copy of your most recent x-rays. If your scan is in your physician’s clinic, you will not need to bring this information.
